You are convinced that you need to include more music in your teaching and you are going to order some music for use in your classroom. However, you feel inadequate to lead and teach music. Then don't wait until Saturday night to begin planning your music program!
GCP has recorded some invaluable music to aid in classroom singing. The Toddler through Middle Elementary Sunday school curriculum has recorded songs for each year's curriculum, divided by quarter, to help as you plan each quarter of singing. You may want to consider ordering the accompanying songbooks for your children so they may participate by reading the words with the music.
Recruit someone to help you with the music. It could be a teen or choir member who could come in for the first ten or fifteen minutes of class.
Choose a few songs that your class can repeat each week until they know them well.
If you have a large class, put song texts on posters or overheads so everyone can read the words together.
With older children, assign a song to individual students who like to sing, and have them teach it to the class.
